On October 31st, 2009, The Denver Gorilla Run takes place in downtown Denver, Colorado. The race is a fun way to promote the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund.
Amanda and I are training for the Boston Marathon next April, and so we thought this would be a fun way to get ready for the marathon while raising money for a very good cause.
We’re looking for two to four sponsors for Amanda and I. The sponsors don’t have to be from Colorado and they don’t have to be a business neccesarily. It could be anyone.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 from sponsors (two sponsors at $1,000 each or four sponsors at $500 each). This covers:
Registration and the associated fees with that (this includes money for the conservation fund), our gorilla suits, the round trip flight, the hotel, and transportation to and from the race.
What Do Sponsors Get?
-We will wear shirts on the Gorilla costumes with the sponsors logo on the front and back.
-Amanda and I will be documenting the process on our Flip video cameras by recording video updates as we race. These videos will feature a fifteen to thirty second promotional bump before they begin featuring the sponsor.
-If the sponsor is a Denver area business, Amanda and I will come to their store or office in the gorilla costumes to record the promo.
-We will be taking photos of the event and uploading them across the different social publishing platforms that we use.
-Sponsors will also get a 125 x 125 button here on Soap Box Included until January 1st, 2010. I don’t usually offer advertising on this website, so this is a very rare opportunity to be promoted here.
