I wanted to take a moment to talk about the ”Tucker Max Is A Douchebag“ website. “I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell” comes out today, and I think you should see it. Here’s where to catch the film this weekend.
I think we’ve done an ok job at establishing on SBI that, with great attention comes a great amount of assholes. You need to be aware of things like the above blog so that, with luck and web traffic, you’ll know what to do about it.
Besides, I can only tell you about Barb so many times, you know?
Let’s journey into the mind of a mouth-breather and their reasoning for trying to take down a successful blogger. This is sort of like getting a sneak preview into the mind of an idiot and how ridiculous their claims against you might be in the future.
Standard disclaimer, as with previous articles on Max: The debate about his content is not one for SBI. I like his stories, you might not. That’s totally cool. In talking about his movie and book here, my goal is to discuss the overall story of a successful social publisher.
Their … oh what the hell, I’m not going to bother calling it a mission statement:
As I have written several times already, this blog was set up to expose Tucker Max as a douchebag. Tucker and his moderators edit the hell out of Tucker’s own message board and his Wikipedia entry. He and his followers have also apparently submitted a substantial number of overly positive fake reviews of his books at Amazon.com.
Tucker Max admits and advertises that he’s an asshole, so is it really necessary to expose him as a douchebag?
Also, I read the Wikipedia “Talk” page, and it sounds like a fair, reasonable discussion took place there about dicks, maybe this author, adding negative material to the entry. Wikipedia is not supposed to take a position. It’s a fucking encyclopedia!
Also, for a site dedicated to “exposing” someone, to start off with a lie about Wikipedia edits and a faulty claim about Amazon Reviews with nothing to back it up … that’s a certain kind of behavior, one exhibited by, well … douchebags.
Who’s exposing who here?
People need a forum where they can rebut Tucker’s b.s. stories or post their own. Based on the format of the entries on this blog it should be readily apparent that I really don’t spend much time posting messages here. I created this blog because I believe that Tucker is trying portray himself as a cool stud, something he is clearly not.
No. People don’t need anything like this. A life? Sure. But where’s the need? And, which is it: Did you create the blog to provide people with a forum for unsubstantiated stories or because you’re trying to satisfy some grudge?
You seem to have a keen knowledge about these Wikipedia edits, post deletions, and “fake” reviews. I know it’s a stretch, but I’m going to have to go with “grudge”.
And let’s talk about Tucker’s stories for a second: Playing Devil’s Advocate, if tomorrow morning there was a press release from Max saying all of the stories were lies, would it really matter?
Don’t answer right away. I know that’s a problem people like you have. Take a deep breath and … think. You know how to do that right? I know it hurts, but c’mon. Try it.
Do those stories immediately become less funny or entertaining if they’re lies?
No. They don’t.
Sure, some people might be disappointed, but when you think about it, Max proclaims himself to be an asshole. So if the stories turned out to be false, which I highly doubt, then score one for Tucker because it plays right into the public persona he’s created.
Of course an asshole is going to lie to you. That’s what assholes do!
Some of you are the misconception that this blog is supposed to be as authoritative as the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times and that I should independently verify every single thing posted in the comments here. That is not going to happen. Not only is that completely unrealistic, you need to consider the fact that Tucker does not post citations for everything he posts on website, so why should I or the people posting comments?
Why? How about libel? Character defamation? No? Never heard of those? That’s why. You’re making the claim, so the burden of proof is on you.
I know we live in Bizzaro Land where idiots get to walk around saying Barack Obama is a secret Muslim because he didn’t deny it, but in reality, you’re the schmuck making the claim, and if you can’t back it up, then you’re just out to damage the guy’s reputation and fill time in what must be a very sad earthly existence.
Anonymous blog comments and unsubstantiated stories sent in from people do not constitute evidence of any kind. Facts require names, dates, locations, pictures. Since you’re sharing them to support your claim, it’s your responsibility to back it up.
And, since I know you’re slow, Tucker doesn’t have citations in his stories because … they’re stories! Do you want a biography or memoir to stop every couple of seconds and provide evidence? Even Bob Schieffer doesn’t do that for most of his stories, and he’s a legendary reporter.
If one of the biggest names in journalism doesn’t source (most) of his autobiographical stories, how can you expect a self described asshole to?
By the way. I love Bob Schieffer. He’s a Texan. And I’m pretty sure if you started a website called “Bob Schieffer Is A Douchebag” he’d be on the first flight out from CBS HQ to mess you up. And he’s 72.
People can post comments anonymously if they want to do so. There have been many good Tucker Max stories posted here. Are they all 100% true? I don’t know, as I was not present during any of the encounters described in the stories. You should use your own judgment and decide for yourself.
Hmm. I should decide for myself whether or not these “good” stories and claims are true on a website called “TuckerMaxIsADoucheBag”.
I suppose that Tucker’s fans would like me to disable anonymous comments so that they can find out who is posting real Tucker Max stories here so that they can harass such posters. Keep dreaming, because that is not going to happen anytime soon.
Again. You can’t have it both ways dude. If you’re promoting a website that claims to be offering these stories, you can’t then say, “Well screw you if you want to question it because I won’t give you the chance.”
Others of you think that I am somehow insecure and/or just want to piggyback off Tucker to get website traffic. Those are the pathetic insults made by desperate people. Do you honestly think that everyone who dislikes Tucker must therefore be jealous of him or insecure? You’re delusional if you really believe that. Sooner or later your hero will be exposed to his Internet followers as a liar and a douchebag (if he hasn’t already). Also, look around on this blog. Do you see any advertising? I’m not doing this to make money or achieve fame.
I don’t think that at all. Your website is pointless and unnecessary. The man proudly proclaims to be an asshole, so being exposed as a docuhebag? Unnecessary.
And if his stories turn out to be fake? It’s irrelevant. That doesn’t make them any less entertaining to read and share with your friends.
Oh. Sorry. You don’t have any of those. If you did, they’d tell you what a waste of time your website is.
So here’s what I think: You’re a dick with nothing better to do, and by the sounds of it, one who clearly has an axe to grind. Spew crazy elsewhere friend because the failure train is coming by to take you and your blog home

dude … but tucker max IS a douchebag. even if all his stories are true, he still a geeky pudgy coward who made a horrendous movie, and when it bombed removed his forums so no one could make fun of the dumb shit that he is. him and his fat fuck nerd friends ian and rex are pussies too, but thats another story.
