If you’d like to be my friend on Facebook, I encourage you to friend the Facebook page here.
If you send me a friend request to my profile, unless I’ve:
A) Met you in person (and like you)
B) Worked with you / Done business with you.
I won’t accept the request. Not only am I not accepting the request, but if I’ve added you in the past and you don’t meet either of these conditions, I will probably unfriend you from my main profile. Don’t take it personally.
It’s Not You, It’s Me. Really.
As I’ve said before, the person with the most friends doesn’t win. That’s true for every social network.
And although I’ve experimented with letting everyone be my Facebook friend, I just don’t use the service enough to justify maintaining two active profiles. So my profile, which I’ve had on there since 2004 is going to only follow people who meet the two conditions above, but the Fan Page (which is where I’d like you to be) will be the active page where we can interact.
In fact, the Fan page has taken the place of the blog comments feature on SBI. So if you read something here that you want to discuss, all you have to do is head over to the Facebook page and start a thread with your comment.
