A Brief Post On Brevity

Blog posts should be 500 words or less.Paul Bunyan Statue In Minnesota

If it’s any more, forget it. Your reader is off somewhere else. Probably Vegas.

If you run over 500, you cut that fucker down like you’re Paul Bunyan.

I want you to edit that thing so hard the blog post has no choice but to call you “Babe The Blue Ox”. That’s where most writers fail.They don’t edit anything.

Especially bloggers. They just cross shit out like this and call that editing. That’s not editing. That’s bullshit.

Unless you’re writing a novel, word count matters. Anything more than 500 words is best left for print.

Which is not dead. Just in transition. Like Paul Bunyan.
